OUR STORY
The past, present, and future
Boschkloof is a family cellar in Stellenbosch, shaped by place and built over time.
From the farm’s natural kloof to the vineyards we’ve replanted, everything we do is guided by site, season, and a hands-on approach.
The beginning
Boschkloof was purchased in 1995 and named after the natural ravine — the kloof — that runs through the farm.
Rolling hills, mountain backdrops, and granite-rich soils set the tone for the wines we make.
The vineyards
Rooted in decomposed granite and koffieklip soils, the farm’s earliest vineyards were largely Cape Riesling.
Over the years, Jacques transitioned the vineyards to varieties that truly suit this site — including Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay.
Continuing that long-term vision, Reenen has replanted 55% of the farm with young vines, establishing the next chapter for the estate and for his two sons.
A family cellar
Veteran winemaker Jacques Borman established Boschkloof in 1996 to build a family winery with a clear point of view.
Reenen Borman joined the cellar in 2010 and took over winemaking in 2012 — continuing the same focus: small-batch, site-specific wines that reflect the soils they grow in.
