Crafted to offer a beautifully fresh perspective while staying deeply true to its roots, this modern expression of Pinotage bursts with vibrancy. The nose is inviting and aromatic, showcasing bright red cherries, wild raspberries, and delicate floral notes, underscored by an appealing, earthy minerality. On the palate, the wine is wonderfully textured and incredibly fresh, delivering a juicy, energetic mouthfeel with fine, gripping tannins and a pure, elegant finish that proudly retains its undeniable Pinotage identity.
Thanks to its lively acidity and textural grip, this is an incredibly versatile, food-friendly wine. It is an absolute star alongside traditional South African braai fare — think smoky pork belly, sticky BBQ spare ribs, or classic boerewors. It also pairs spectacularly with mildly spicy dishes like a Cape Malay curry, rich roasted duck, or earthy vegetarian options such as charred aubergine and stuffed portobello mushrooms.
Driven by a philosophy of terroir expression, all the fruit for this wine is carefully sourced from vineyards rooted in the decomposed granitic soils of the Polkadraai Hills. In the cellar, a minimal-intervention approach is key: the grapes undergo 100% whole-bunch fermentation to naturally enhance freshness, floral aromatics, and structural texture. Following fermentation, the wine is gently aged in neutral French oak barrels for 11 months. This considered process ensures the oak supports rather than overpowers the wine, resulting in a vibrant, honest, and beautifully textured Pinotage.
